Considering how annoying, and sometimes dangerous, a tree stump can be, it really is important to try and remove them. The article makes a good point about that removal needing to be easily done as well. After all, it is much quicker to hire a professional with the right tools to remove it than trying to remove it yourself with some crazy homemade remedy.

The new home that my fiance and I moved into has a stump in the front yard. I think it is unsightly and I think that the overall look of the house would improve with its removal. It is nice to know that a professional team would make stump grinding easy and done correctly.

Grinding a tree stump on my own seems overwhelming. I have considered hiring a professional, but I think I am dead set on it after reading that they could do it for me in a day and that they could make sure there is no mess left behind. It's been something I have been putting off, and I think that it's time me for to seriously look into it.

Hi Lisa Tadewaldt,
Trees require consistent, expert pruning for proper health. Trees that haven’t been properly pruned are often weakened and therefore hazardous. In some cases, a single strong gust of wind could blow down a branch or a whole tree that has been inadequately pruned. One example is “topping,” the unfortunate practice of trimming off a significant portion of a tree’s crown, often under the misguided idea that this will cause increase blooming. Instead, the tree is left deformed, ugly, and severely weakened. A tree that has been topped is more likely to develop disease and rot, becoming a hazard.
Thanks.

I removed a few trees from my backyard last month but the stumps remain. Now as you said here, the work should be done by a professional with experience. That is something that I'd look for in a stump grinding company as I cannot do the work myself.

The same thing goes for hiring a tree cutting company. Without the right training and experience, an arborist or tree cutting professional could butcher your tree and leave it in really bad shape
Thanks
